Acclaim boss David Perry seems to be making a habit out of bold claims. Remember how he said that E3 was broken and an embarrassment? Well now he says that Sony has "pretty much no change of making money on the PS3." His E3 claim was valid, from what we've seen of the event, but this claim may be premature. What do you guys think?

A new monthly report is in town, and it's a collaborative effort between the top three firms that track sales in the video game industry. North America's NPD Group, UK's Chart Track, and Japan's Enterbrain are now to come up with joint monthly reports. And with their powers combined... it's the Top Global Markets Report! Oooh, sounds like a golden idea! And guess what? The first report has already been published. Wanna see? Get a hold of the top five worldwide best-selling games of 2008 so far!

More videos are just busting out from the Leipzig Games Convention. A new gameplay video is out for Tomb Raider: Underworld, where everyone's favorite raider shows off her moves and battles a couple of tigers without getting a scratch on her. Watch the vid after the link.

Following numerous trials and tribulations (probably because of a certain rock star developer we might all know - cough*Itagaki*cough), Yoshimi Yasuda has now resigned from Tecmo. Details of his resignation weren't revealed, but the only thing we could get is that he's bidding farewell to the company for "personal reasons".

Thoroughly confused and unsure exactly what to make of this. So um, yeah, Kratos, chick layer, monster slayer and all around badass looks set to make a cameo appearance in Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds. The whole deal just seems like a bad idea, surely there are other more appropriate cross-game characters, like Clank, or Sackboy or... just about anyone! What's next? Kratos plushies? Babification of well loved characters is never a good thing.

British game developers have launched an all-out war against illegal file-sharers. They're not about to take piracy in the industry sitting down. But the music industry, another victim of the pirates, aren't backing them up on this cause. It's an apparent disagreement in approach and disposition.

Near the end of their press conference at Leipzig, Konami unveiled a new game that promises tons of 3D action for everyone.

The game, called Lords of Shadow, is the long-awaited collaboration between Konami and Mercury Steam, and is billed as a dark fairy tale starring a mysterious man in red named Gabriel. Learn more about the game and find a video after the jump!

Sacred was a good hack-and-slash game in its own right, so we're actually quite excited to see what the sequel has in store for people.
